SunOS 5.10 default 'sh' and 'grep' requires double quotes " " around your grep ^blah commands on lines 261 and 279.

Output from autogen.sh -d:

+ /usr/local/bin/automake --version
+ cut -d -f 4
+ automake
+ grep
Usage: grep -hblcnsviw pattern file . . .

fixed diffs:

261c261
< automakeversion=`$AUTOMAKE --version < /dev/null 2>&1 | grep ^automake | cut -d " " -f 4`
---
> automakeversion=`$AUTOMAKE --version < /dev/null 2>&1 | grep "^automake" | cut -d " " -f 4`
279c279
< autoconfversion=`$AUTOCONF --version < /dev/null 2>&1 | grep ^autoconf | cut -d " " -f 4`
---
> autoconfversion=`$AUTOCONF --version < /dev/null 2>&1 | grep "^autoconf" | cut -d " " -f 4`

Just a quick fix for you.
