#2 .DS_Store?

ok. every time i try to read my disks. it works for a few minutes and then
grays the screen and tells me i have to restart my computer. think it is
because the disk is read-only and OS X trys to write its .DS_Store folder
info file, thus causing a problem. if this is the case, please tell me how to
turn off the writing of the .DS_Store files, or if it is not the problem,
