During initial development, it was intended that all of the “assets” including models, tables, photos and other graphics and text, would be catalogued and made available to new material developers in a sort of library. This task would be well to continue, making those myriad resources available to benefit WAP trainers and the broader building science community.
In addition, there continue to be issues with user experience re: equipment requirements. On a recent test run, users experienced images that would not load, movies that would not play, and buttons that did not work.
A 3D tool is frequently mentioned in the content. Users could not find technical requirements on the site for using the 3D tool. The tool requires the user to search for models, which poses separate user challenges in a prefabricated, template type of environment:
• Using the tool requires downloading and installing an application. There may be security issues to overcome.
• Models must be searched for on the Internet. These are typically not free.
• Models need to be uploaded into the system. There is a risk the uploaded models will not run on certain browsers (e.g., IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
