What best practices have you seen for content sharing? Below are a few of the ideas that I think are successful:

    • Create small consumable/sharable content items. Within NTERLMS, put no more than 15 min of learning materials in a single SCO. Ideally, it would cover a single learning objective/topic. In this way, another educator can borrow your SCO for incorporation in their course.
    • iGEN asked SRI to build an import/export feature for NTERLMS. I think they have it in production. But this would allow the export of an entire course, given the appropriate permissions.
    • Obviously, share content broadly with CC Share Alike permissions.

Some folks don't think there is interest in consuming content generated by other educators. What do you think?

You’ve highlighted some excellent practices for effective content sharing! Here are a few additional thoughts:

Metadata and Tagging: Adding detailed metadata to SCOs makes content discoverable and easier for others to reuse in their courses.

Collaboration Platforms: Hosting shared content on platforms with collaboration features, like GitHub or institutional repositories, can foster a community of contributors.

Feedback Loops: Encourage users to leave feedback on shared content. Iterative improvements based on user input can make resources more valuable over time.

Regarding interest in content generated by other educators: I believe there’s significant potential, especially for foundational topics. Educators often look for resources that save time and meet high-quality standards, so well-organized, reusable content can be highly appealing.
