This is to announce that NStats V1.1.117 has been released. This is an =
upgrade to version 1.1.111.
What's new in this version:
NStats can now be configured to recognize other NStats nodes running =
on your network. It accomplishes this
by using multicast packets that are transmitted from each configured =
NStats Daemon configured to do so. By using these
multicast packets each NStats node you run keeps a list of all other =
daemons running.
This option may be enabled or disabled as you desire. It is merely =
a convenience and does not impact that information that NStats collects. =
All configuration options are in misc.cfg
Hope you enjoy this new release,
John Peterson

This release includes greater SMB support as well as NBNS = support/decoding. As I said in the previous news update I decided = against full SMB packet decoding for NStats. I may eventually write an = add-on that supports full packet decoding I didn't think it was = "appropriate" for NStats. This release also fixes a bug that caused misc.cfg to not be properly = parsed. NStats 1.1.92 is now available for download. New in this release is = more SMB packet decoding. =20 NStats now fully decodes the MAILSLOT protocol used in browser elections = that occur on all Windows based networks. Also fixed an incorrect description in the admin interface, and added = some more box stats to the admin interface. Updated the readme.txt file to include the admin login/password = information and updated it a bit for the new version of NStats and provided more information of obtaining = WinPCap to get the proper version. Hello Everyone,
Wanted to drop you all a line and let you know that I released =
1.1.90 about 10 minutes ago. I didn't get all the features I wanted =
into this release but I at last have a working admin interface.
The admin interface can be switched on and off depending on your =
needs. The default admin password is: admin
If you decided to run the interface I suggest you change that to =
something else especially if your WebUI can be accessed via the =
Internet.
I will hopefully be following this release up with another one very =
soon that will include some of the features I've discussed in the new =
features on the main Sourceforge page.
Enjoy,
John Peterson
