Hello,
first of all: thank you for providing this tool!

I've installed ble-sniffer-osx and it looks like it's running without any problems. But it shows no advertisers. I've used an ubertooth and an iOS client to make sure, the hardware I want to sniff sends advertising packages.

The "Packet Count" in the ble-sniffer-osx contiously counts up (current value 10.060), but no advertiser. When I start Wireshark it is waiting for packages, when I capture to file, that file contains some kind of header and doesn't increase in size.

So it looks like there are packages, but that packages are filtered out somehow.

The version of the nrf51 firmware is 1.0.1_1111; the version of the nrf-ble-sniffer-osx is 1.2.3. Maybe nordic changed the protocol on the firmware side?

thank you,
Torsten

No instant suggestions. That's the current version of the sniffer firmware which I've tested (and Nordic kindly tests them for me too). That's also the current version of the ble sniffer which was updated a few weeks ago. I just checked myself, that's the version of the sniffer software I have on the 3 test devices I use and they are all working ok.

What version of OSX are you running on? I'm on 10.10, the software hasn't changed much since I was running 10.9 and possibly even 10.8, but it doesn't get tested on older OSes.

I assume the screen says "Listing all devices".

If it's counting packets it means it's reading the stream ok, if it's not showing anything nor dumping to wireshark, it's hard to believe there's any data coming in. What dongle are you using? Have you tried it in a Windows emulator as well?

Sorry for the run of questions but I'm trying to figure out where the problem may lie here.
