    Sometimes, I don't know when and what it causes, the filter settings is not set correctly on startup. Keep sure to set the combo filter setting to "*.*", if you want to see all files.

    I guessed that you were referring to the "LastFilter=" entry , so I changed that to "LastFilter=*.*" and all is well again. I don't know how it got changed, either. I had a problem trying to change the INI file using NPP (the change wouldn't stick), so I had to use Windows Notepad to edit it.

    You couldn't edit it with Notepad++ and expect, that the changes you did in INI file are set to Notepad++. INI files are normaly loaded on startup - to restore the settings - and saved on closing. So when you changed something in INI file, it will not used on next startup, because it was overwritten on closing.
    BTW: There is no need to change it in INI file. Normaly it's only necessary to change this in "Filter:"-COMBOBOX at bottom of explorer.
