I am wondering if it has been considered to allow nppExec to operate on the clipboard (or text selection).
Why would I want that feature?
Well, sometimes executing on the whole file is just too brute force. Especially if you modify the file, you need to reload it, and all you undo's are gone, as well as your bookmarks.
Being able to save the clipboard / selection to a file, execute a command on it, and then restore the file back to the clipboard / selection, could make it easier to write simple script to automate programming.
For example, I sometimes would like to type a keyword, select it, and then after running my external script the keyword ha tranformed into a structure / function / for loop, or whatever.
Or am I asking for something that already exists under a different moniker?
NppExec Manual, section 4.6.3 + "nircmd clipboard …".
