#13 Better Archive Management

Forgive me if I am ignorant.

Playing with you script (the best one I have seen for a
news writer)

Anyway if I知 not mistaken NewsPHP Advanced places all
old posts (posts that have dropped of the main news
page) in a new file called archive.txt. what would be
nice if for the archive a way could be developed to
archive the messages by week, month, year in there own
directory that you can specify, and with its own format.

Also it would be nice if I could bring in old news to the
system. Even a simple system that allows you to backdate
news via cut and past of the text and header and a dropdown
menu selector would be beneficial. Nothing fancy like fully
automated imports. Very basic

I guess this would also be part of this. When adding
messages to the news, you just concatenate the new message
to the end of the nphpd.dat file. What happens is that if I
added dates out of order, when the page is compiled, the
message will show up out of order. I recommend adding the
ability to resort the dates.

Oh yes. This is one of the things that set back your news
poster. What happens when you get an archive of over 100
news posts? Very long loading time. It would be great to sort
by week, or even better, month.
