Map Rasterization

Lycoris Manjusaka

You can copy the map to a bitmap, modify it in any graphics editor, and paste the modified image into the Map Editor.
This will allow you to quickly create complex maps as well as design symmetrical objects like circles and rectangles. You can even easily insert an auto-generated maze.

The new menu is on the Objects/Waypoints page at the bottom in the Map Copy section.
The old map copy functions have been moved to the Data page, while the rasterization-related functions are on the Bitmap page.

Data Bitmap

There are two fundamentally different ways to rasterize a map:

  • Tiles
  • Walls
(follow the links to read detailed instructions for each of these methods)

To work with raster images, it is convenient to use the MS Paint program of the Windows XP era. The new Paint that was introduced in Windows Vista and later is not well suited to working with pixel art. Here you can read about some tricks in using this program. You can download Paint here.
In some cases, it will be useful to use more advanced editors, such as Photoshop or Gimp, but Paint is enough for basic tasks.

Note that the copied section is rotated clockwise by 45 degrees. Thus, all rectangular houses look like real rectangles.
