Hello,
I have just migrated from ion3 to notion (thank you for it!) and I don't
understand well how to use mod_xrandr.
I occasionally use a beamer. Previously, with ion3, after restarting, I
saw two independent screens available with Mod+shift+{1,2}.
Now, with mod_xrandr, by default, the two screens are the same. When I try
something like:
xrandr --output HDMI-0 --right-of VGA-0
...I get the first half of a frame on a screen, and the second half on the
other.
Is there some way to reproduce the old behavior?...
Thank you for the help,
Alain-Pierre

Yes, that should still be possible :)

That looks like the way to do it (personally I also sometimes use 'arandr')

Hmm that doesn't seem right. What version of notion are you running?
Perhaps your version doesn't automatically listen for RandR changes yet. Can
you call 'mod_xrandr.screenlayoutupdated()' manually, does that arrange your
workspaces correctly?
Kind regards,
Arnout

Howdy!
Which video driver are you using?
Did you try to enable mod_xinerama?
Best Regards

I have 2 different monitors connected, a 24" and 30" and use this xrandr
statement in my .Xession file which may help you:
xrandr --output DVI-1 --primary --mode 2560x1600 --rate 60 --right-of
DVI-0
You'll have to adjust accordingly for your setup to see if something
similar can work for you.

I tried all the suggestions, with no luck.
"--same-as" option works as expected. The better I get with "--right-of"
is a black screen, where I can see the mouse but not create frames...
I will try later, after updating notion, just in case...

Please do, and don't hesitate to let us know how that turns out.
If you need any help at all getting notion from git, be sure to let us know
too.
Kind regards,
Arnout

It's a bit late (I totally forgot to send this email), but I had to say
that mod_xandr works perfectly fine with the latest version of Notion.
Thank you for that!
