Could you append to that post on the front page mentioning the close tab feature, that you have to enable it in preferences. I only assumed it was on by default because of the way it was proclaimed on that post.
By the way, great great great work. Minimal but with so many features, just the way I like it.

I installed Notepad++ 3.9 but I don't see the close button on each tab.
I got the same issue.
I installed win xp sp2.
I installed on top of an existing 3.8 installation. Do i need to uninstall and install to upgrade?

Thanks for the reference Don. Notepad++ is my fav editor! :-) I truly appreciate the work you are doing.
As regards, the issue, i am talking abt 3.9 , not 4.0 RC2.
I installed 3.9 on top of 3.8, and dont see the close button on each tab.
I've tried this in V4.0 RC2.
By default, there is no close [x].
But go to Settings.Preferences.Global.TabBar[EnableCloseButtonOneachTab] ticked.
and voila: you have close [x], on each tab.
Me, I'm used to ^W, or right click on the tab, and I prefer more Tabs
to fit on the screen.
So the option should make everyone happy....
