I have a rather long XML string, and would like to break it down into tree form. Can Notepad++ do this automatically? If so, how?
You are configuring your N++ to use external tool - in this case a program called Tidy. Its a tool created to validate and convert HTML&XML.
Yeah, with the help of a HTMLTidy its easy.
Under the run menu add a new command like this
C:\utils\tidy.exe -m -i -xml -i "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)" -o "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"
Change the path to tidy.exe to wherever its located on your machine.
I'm sorry but I don't understand. Am I creating a new file called "tidy.exe" and then pointing to it? If so what is supposed to be inside the file?
