Notepad++ is displaying every line break in a file as 2 line breaks.
If I open up a text file in regular Notepad, the file looks fine.
If I open up the same file in Notepad++, it displays with double line breaks.
I edit my Wordpress files in Notepad++, and I upload the files via ftp to themes folders.
Viewing the files in the WP editing gui, the files now have double line breaks, whereas when I downloaded them in order to edit, they had single line breaks.
I don't have any plugins installed in Notepad++, and I'm running Windows 7.
Any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it, as this wastes time and creates more work than necessary for editing?
So, just found a post explaining TextFX, which solved my problem; though it could be looked into why Notepad++ does this.
Hi roseandmoon ,
can you attach a file that is giving you problems?
Did you make sure you uploaded/downloaded the files using consistent FTP transfer mode? ie either ASCII both ways or BINARY both ways?
