    Is there any documentation about the functionality of the implemented Search/Replace and Regex?

      The implementation of Regex Search/Replace is not yet complete in v2.8. However, I'll finish it in v2.9.
      (so the document will be written afterward)

      Here's an example (will work with v2.9) :
      find what :      get(.+)\(\)
      replace with :  set\1[]

      will replace respectively :
          getInfo()
          getCurrentLineNumber()
          getPreviousClickedLineNumber()
      by :
          setInfo[]
          setCurrentLineNumber[]
          setPreviousClickedLineNumber[]

        Is the document about regular expressions in Notepad++ available already ?
        My problem is, I can't get a simple alternative to work:

        Search "expr1" OR "expr2" in regex syntaHkiemȦPd>{r2". That doesn't work. Do you use an operator different to the pipe (|) for searching alternatives ?

      Oops, I wish you could edit your posts on this forum...here's the full text to the above post:

      Unfortunately, the regexp matching is controlled by the Scintilla component and it does not provide all of the normal regexp syntax.

      http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3326078 has some info on where to look up the syntax that Notepad++ does support.

      I have modified the Scintilla code so that it uses pcre from http://www.pcre.org/ , which has a lot more features.  If anyone is interested, I could put a package together for people to try out.  I have been using it for several weeks, but it is still highly experimental.
