Pre-defined template text when opening new files with specific extensions

    Hello all,

    Does anyone know how I can pre-populate new files with specific file extensions with template text?

    For example, when opening a new .cpp file how can I get notepad++ to pre-populate the file with the following text:

    #include <iostream>
    using namespace std;
    int main()

    I tried using Emmet plugin text snippets but I can't get them to work. Snippets would work fine, but if there's a way to hard code it I'd prefer it.

    There is a way, which has been discussed in earlier threads: change the registry key for New .cpp file to an instance of the file you have in mind.
    A side effect which may be a problem: this change will affect new .cpp files created in any way by any application.
