I'm really enjoying N++.  Thank you for a great tool.  I still find I need to pull out TextPad to solve one set of problems.  I occasionally need to search for given text, bookmark the lines, and then copy those lines to another file.  This is a great way to filter a log file.

In TextPad, this is done through Edit > Copy Other > Bookmarked Lines.

    Thanks,
    Drew

Have a look at Plugins/TextFX Viz/Show Lines With (Clipboard) Text.

When I do a Find and select "mark lines" it tags them all fine. Using the Plugins/TextFX Viz/Show Lines with (Clipboard) Text" does nothing - absolutely NOTHING to the file for me. It says "I'm not going to hide all the lines! Copy something into the clipboard that can be found!" Well, I DID tell it to "FIND" lines starting with two variables, marking the lines with each search... So now I have a text file with some 29,000 lines of text with about 500 marked lines; and all I need and want are those scattered 500 lines that are so simply marked but impossibly hard to get displayed alone without the junk around them.

If someone has some better way to do this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out. I've scoured these forums, the FAQ's on the website, and even a dozen or so pages I've found through Google searches and nothing's helped me at all... I really don't want to spend hours scanning through (and deleting) 99% of nearly 29,000 (literally) lines of junk text for the 500 or so lines I need.

From version 5.0, I believe, there is an option in the Search menu.
It is called "Copy bookmarked lines".
Paste them in a new document.
