    Hi,
since some month I have to open files only in a special codepage.
its the old dos: OEM 852 (german with special "umlauts" and other signs).
    How can I do this?
    Who can help?
It's an easy question, or it is impossible?

Idea: it's possible to do with a macro? I have tgried it, but no positive result....

What I know, is: it's easy to open NEW files in OEM 852. see also: notepad++ -> settings -> options -> files -> see special coding list

    thanks a lot.
    Yours klaus

    Hi,
After loading the file, you can go to menu Encoding -> Character sets -> Central European -> OEM 852. You can also map a shortcut if you need to do this often: go to menu Settings -> Shortcut Mapper..., in the "Main menu" tab scroll down to OEM 852 (should be at line 152) and modify the shortcut to whatever is not already used.

    hi francois-R
thanks for the hint. it's not the solution I would prefer. but it works
I've created a shortcutmapper for alt-x. it works fast, it displays the file in codepage852. fine. yes.
please let me say: I was searching for a solution without a macro or shortcutmapper. to tell NP++ all files automatically(!) opened in OEM852. ok. it seems so, that this will not work. Your solution is also a nice solution. thanks a lot!
