Textpad uses a simple file listing box instead of tabs notepad++ uses. It would be nice if such a feature can be implemented.
When working with >10 files open, switching and constantly going trough the tabs with open files gets annoying, especially when they're out of screen.
In my opinion, with a list you have a better overview.
An alternative might be to make the implementation similar to Eclipse's editor, i.e.:
Show one tab for each file (as it is now), but once file tab bar is filled, a ">>" appears at the right-hand edge of the tab bar, with a number indicating the number of additional open files. When pressed, it displays a drop-down displaying all the open file names, allowing you to quickly select any one of them.
This way you get the best of both worlds.
