First, thanks for an extremely useful program :)
Here is my problem:
I'd like to ship notepad++ highlighting rules for a specific file format along with my application.
What would be the best way to do that ? I tried to ship userDefineLang.xml but ran into problems. First, it doesn't work all the time (don't know why), second, even when it works it also deletes custom rules previously set by customers.
The ideal solution from a deployment point of view would be if each custom rule could be in its own file and notepad++ could scan xml files in its folder to load all rules available.
Another solution that would work for us would be a load/save functionality for the user define language dialog box.
Is there anything like this in the work ? If not, I might even give it a shot :)
If you want to tap into a largish resource of existing highlighter files, you could look here
These are for an editor that is no longer developed.
