Feature tickets

The 'feature tickets' page is a bit unclear to me.

General question, how are feature tickets selected for implmentation?

What does the milestone 'Next_Release' mean? There are currently 1323 open tickets and 596 are set to 'Next_Release'.

How can I view which tickets are actually beeing worked on and which release they are (tentativtely) scheduled for?

Basically, the feature requests are an open box from which Don or other developers cah choose from.
Some of them can upload the changes they make to implement the feature. Other people submit paches, preferrably SVN-generated patches.
Then Don decides whether he likes the mod and accepts it. When he does so depends on his scarce spare time. What his priorities are... I haven't seen a roadmap for years, so I cannot tell.

Frankly, there are probably not enough people working on the program to warrant making schedule.

I've made a few contributions and my reason for choosing to work on a particular feature request or bug has almost always been because it looked interesting.
