There are 37 programming languages suported by the Notepad++, and it makes the "Language" menu pretty long. I think that they could be sorted in some submenus, for example
I dissagree about your proposed sorting scheme, but i do agree that the languages should be sorted somehow...
Don, I just noticed, that the languages are not even sorted alphabeticaly - this is serious problem!
I put them a little bit in random.
Is sorting scheme so important?
I think it is important. When i open files with common extensions (like .php, .c, .cpp, .h etc) - Notepad++ recognizes them correctly and i don't need to even look into the Language menu. But, if i open some file with uncommon extension (like .dialog, .database etc) - i need to actualy find the right language... A minute ago, i opened one of my dialog resource files (.dlg) - i needed to find RC language... I was looking for it for about 12 seconds (i was expecting it somewhere near the end). This is bad. I suggest to show the languages in alphabetical order.
All you have to do, is order them in the resource file. There is no need to change the ids or something else. It is only a cosmetic change.
