If someone could please help me it'd be SO MUCH appreciated!

I'm trying to edit an xml file, and initially I open it in IE, Copy it and Paste it into Notepad++ and for one it appears to me to be aligned all the way down against the wall, not pushed out in different segments across the page as I copied it. But that may not be a problem at all, but the problem I know for sure is that when I try to upload it it says:

XML Error: Reserved XML Name at Line 1

I've messed with this thing for 2 days now, literally...could ANYONE please help? Thank you so much in advance!

    Mike

When you view an XML file in IE it is automatically indented. When you use cut and paste it will remove the indentation. It's possible to get autoindent in N++ with a plugin, see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7117949/auto-format-indent-for-xml-html-in-notepad

Note that copying and pasting XML from IE will result in a malformed document (IE includes dashes etc in front of all indentation), so you will either have to clean it up yourself or save the XML file properly from IE (File -> Save as).

I'm assuming you're posting the XML to some web service. After you've made sure the document is clean, try removing the space in front of <?xml (see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11107592/xml-error-parsing-soap-payload-reserved-xml-name ).
