I'm not sure if it is my place to fix--seems like whoever put it there
was the person who wrote most of the code and didn't want anyone to get a
free ride.  Since they wrote it in, they can change it in the tree.  It's
simple.  Just look in main for the line that erases a file as soon as you
open the player.  Unfortunately, the realization came too late for me and
I lost a pretty important lecture that I had recorded.  Oh well--there was
no way to download it off the player anyway.
