I'll be making a proper announcement in a day or two, but there's an aspect of the version numbering I want to clear with you all first before shouting about it. 1.1.1 does exist, but you'll have to check the SourceForge project page to hear about it. In an effort to make the release process as easy as possible for myself, I've changed the version number from 1.1.1-unstable-develop to just plain old 1.1.1 and added the RPM spec file and associated material to the source package. So now all I have to do for a new release is bump the version number in configure.in and the RPM spec file, do 'make dist' and then 'rpm -ta noffle-<ver>.tar.gz' on the resulting archive to make a RPM. This saves me a bit of time. Does anybody mind losing the 'unstable-develop' decoration very much? It is a useful warning to the unwary, but leaves me with a source archive that doesn't precisely match the RPM naming (I haven't worked out if/how I can add decoration after the version on the RPM). It is clearly flagged on SourceForge as being a development - not stable - version. Comments? BTW, the main thing I want to do for the next release is to change header file handling to cope with header lines that are >2048 characters *after continuation lines are added to the original*. We need that to be RFC-friendly, by my reading. I think this may mean that we have to cope with XOVER replies from upstream that are really long, too. Plus the other items on the Urgent TODO list, though I see I managed to do the first and not remove it or put an entry in the ChangeLog. Ahem. Silly bunt. Sorry. -- Jim Hague - jim...@in...
