Quoting from our web site... "The Node Project is an IRC Client for Windows developed in Visual Basic 6. However, the current project leaders and developers seem to have lost interest in the project. Eric S. Raymond once wrote that "When you lose interest in a program, your last duty to it is to hand it off to a competent successor." And that's what we are currently looking for. If you think you are the one who can continue the development of Node, we'd be happy to hear from you. Please contact one of the old admins (dionyziz, or ch-world). Thanks for all the users who supported us; we hope that the project won't be dead, and somebody competent enough will be found to continue its development :-)" Sorry if that's bad news for everyone, but that's what we felt doing. A big thanks to everybody that helped us reach the project at this point -- admins, developers, translators, GUI/graphic designers, tech support, beta testing, and, of course all the users that supported us. A big thanks to Christian, Josh, Steve, Witold, Mohamed, daemon, nano and Maverick... I am forgetting so many, it just wouldn't be appropriate for a mailing list e-mail -- everyone who helped: you know who you are -- THANKS :-) Please accept the decision we took. We are looking for a new successor (competent in VB, interested in network/IRC programming and with passion for the program), so if you or someone you know is interested, please let us know. This is probably the last e-mail from the old leader (me), so goodbye to everyone, and thanks once again. Regards, Dionysis Zindros Retired Node Project Leader. |
