Hello, Node has been inactive for quite some time now, since we - the members of the development team - haven't worked on it for the last few months. However, this doesn't mean that the project is dead; now that there's more time for everyone to work on it, we've been preparing a new version of Node, which we call Node Lite. Node Lite is a complete rewrite of the original Node, and is aimed to be faster, use less memory, and be easier to use. It's yet in its first stages, and the source code will remain private among the key members of the development team (ch-world, mozillagodzilla, jnfoot, dionyziz) until we reach a basic working stage, which we are planning to be on in at least 15 days from now, if not more. At that point, we are planning to make the source code along with the first binaries available to everyone via CVS. In the meantime, we are open for suggestions for this new version of Node! What didn't you like in the previous edition? What do you want to see implemented? Are there any ideas about how the GUI should look, and how we can make it easier to use for the average IRC user? All suggestions are welcome; feel free to use this mailing list or our forums (at http://node.sourceforge.net/forums/) to contact us, should you have anything in mind. We'll be happy to hear from you. Please be patient until the first versions of the source code are out, and keep an eye on our home page for announcements! Thanks for supporting and using Node :-) Dionysis Zindros. |
