Hello, As explained in the previous e-mail of this mailing list, we have started the development of the new IRC layer class for Node, in an attempt to: 1) allow other applications to use Node as a layer for being able to communicate via IRC 2) seperate the IRC layer from the GUI layer in order to make the source code clearer 3) build the next, faster version of Node (also known as "Node Lite" among developers) We had to apply a few updates to the initial specification document, reaching the current version, 1.3. We expect more updates of this document to occur soon, as we work on implementing the new layer; they will most likely be published via this mailing list. I attach the current specification document, so that anyone interested can download and study the specification of the layer. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, since they can still be applied, as the implementation is in its early stages. We are planning to publish parts of the new source code as soon as it is working, but probably not before. Until then, the code will only be accessible by the Development Team, via private resources. (If you are not in the Development Team, but are interested to download the code before it has been partially completed, feel free to contact us) Dionysis Zindros.
