One thing that you'll learn is that we HAVE TO be backwards compatible with 
MWS.  Unfortunately, that includes keeping similarly named configuration 
variable names.  Its sad, and may seem stupid at times, but breaking this 
rule defeats the whole purpose for nms in the first place.
