Hi there, I would be interested in looking at this database? What version of NICOLE are you running?? If you have version 0.1.6 then you can create an export file to share with everyone. Perhaps we can start exchanging knowledgebases? Food for thought.. Cheers, Phil. nic...@li... on 07/09/2000 08:29:13 Please respond to nic...@li... To: nic...@li... cc: (bcc: Phil G Howlett/CorpServ/qdot/au) Subject: [Nicole-users] FAQ I would just everyone to know that I created a knowledge database out of the faq on the NICOLE site, and it works pretty good. I think that a good way to have nicole learn is to hook it up to an IRC chat channel/channels. which is what I am working on now. -jim- ************************************************************* Opinions contained in this e-mail do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Queensland Department of Main Roads, or of Queensland Transport. Hey again, I'm actually looking at building a WWW interface to NICOLE, using the MySQL database on sourceforge. Access is READ ONLY (you can talk to NICOLE, but it doesn't update), however it does log the conversation so that new data can be manually inserted into the knowledge base. This is the only way I can see how I can keep the NICOLE knowledge base 'clean'. I've created the database at sourceforge.net, and populated it with a small sample of data. Since I've got a few Uni assignments to hand in, work on this WWW interface has been rather slow. I'm looking at a small php script that will run the executable that connects to the database (writting NICOLE in php is simply not a good idea) It would be great for you to host a NICOLE database exchange site. :)... I may be getting a DSL connection soon, and I was thinking of making a global database that NICOL developers (ONLY) can use to build a big common knowledge database. I am also thinkg about making a web site so people can exchange databases. Also, :-) I am in the middle of making a program to extract questions from an IRC chat and also watch or the answers, and also plain old chat! So far I can parse questions and answers and put them into a "learn" file format. One more thing, is anyone interested in NICOLE as much as I am to have a chat channel on an IRC server? I was thinking maybe a private chat server...no big networks or anything... anyways, let me know what you all think! I will post that "learn" file for the nicole faq tomorow! -jim- ----- Original Message ----- From: nic...@li... To: nic...@li... I am working on it, I hope to be working for a large Communications = company soon as a web master, and they will provide me with free DSL, so = I think getting a central NICOLE mysql database will be no problem!, It = would probably be for certain people (nicole developers) only at first, = until we work out the permissions and stuff, we wouldnt want people = messing up the database ...if you know what I mean. -jim ----- Original Message -----=20 From: nic...@li...=20 To: nic...@li...=20 Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2000 10:34 PM Subject: Re: [Nicole-users] FAQ Hey again, I'm actually looking at building a WWW interface to NICOLE, using the = MySQL database on sourceforge. Well folks, I got a little app that takes an IRC logfile, and Strips out = Questions and puts the correct answers together. After making some = modifications to it, it actually matches the correct answer with the = person's question. It even detect multiple answers from multiple people. = I have designed it in an agent form, where you can make your own agents, = to strip out a conversation. so, that is my news for today, once I have = this app stable I will post it, so we can start creating good databases = for NICOLE. -jim |
