Hi All NiceXSL 2.0.5 is a 'bug-'fix release to workaround changes in JAXP package names in JDK 1.5. You need this release to use JDK 1.5. [If you care to sort out extra apache/xerces includes you may manage to get NiceXSL 2.0.4 working anyway.] Regards Ed Willink |

Hi All NiceXSL 2.0.4 is now available for download from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/nicexsl/nicexsl_2.0.4.zip?download for command line or ANT use, or as the http://nicexsl.sourceforge.net/update-site for Eclipse use. Now built under Eclipse 3 targetted for Eclipse 2.1.3 compatibility. Add a colon return type syntax for function/match/template. Add a mode syntax for apply-templates/match/template. Add a name too syntax for match. Add a select syntax for namespace - see Correct syntax colouring for "document"/"document-node". Improve syntax colouring of comments within quotes. Support xsl:document. Fix reverse engineering of blank xmlns. Fix reverse engineering under Eclipse 3.0. The new (additional) syntaxes may be found on http://nicexsl.sourceforge.net/html/NiceXSL.html and are used by the reverse engineering script. Regards Ed Willink |

NiceXSL 2.0.2 works around a bug in Xalan under JVM 1.4.2_01 that causes all attempts at reverse engineering to produce a single line result. This is an essential fix for new users who may use the reverse engineering script to create NiceXSL sources. Regards Ed Willink |

NiceXSL 2.0.1 is a bug fix release for the human-friendly front for XSLT. The use of string-to-codepoints() has been removed from the reverse engineering script XSL2NiceXSL.xsl to avoid the script activating a bug in the Xalan forward compatibility behaviour. As a consequence, all non-8-bit characters are reverse engineered to ✏. Regards Ed Willink |

Hi If you like XSLT, but don't like pointy brackets, redundant XML clutter or multiply quoted XPaths, then give NiceXSL a try. It's just a Java/C-like from end syntax with translators to XSLT for normal usage, and from XSLT to get up and running with your existing code. The latest release features: Eclipse integration. Point your Eclipse installer at http://nicexsl.sourceforge.net/update-site. ANT or command line support. Point your browser at http://sourceforge.net/projects/nicexsl. A NiceXSL source is typically 30% smaller and vastly more readable than its XSLT counterpart. Documentation and examples may be found at http://nicexsl.sourceforge.net. Regards Ed Willink |
