Everyone,
I am very happy and proud to announce on behalf of the entire NiCE Development Team the release of NiCE 2.0. This message is coming to you a day late as the actual release was yesterday around the end of the work day.
Binary downloads are available under "Files."
All the Best,
Jay
I have two bits of news to share with the community:
*We have 100 tests! Over the past month we have added a lot of new functionality and improved our existing tests to boot. This is a good sign for a growing project!
*We have a new team member, Neeti Pokhriyal, joining our team on July 30th 2012. We're looking forward to adding Neeti's data mining and software dev expertise to our team!
I'm very happy about both pieces of news. Congrats to our team! :)... read more
I am very happy to announce that we have started regularly publishing binary builds, for demonstration purposes only, to http://niceproject.sourceforge.net/binaries/binaries.php.
The binary build currently available is the demonstration release that I promised the other day. Unfortunately I didn't make it as far as I wanted on the code, but this version is still good for showing off what we are trying to build. It is configured out of the box to run the "file" command on a local machine and it can be extended with simple OSGi plugins to do more. I'm putting together some documentation to describe how to do that and it should be available on the wiki soon.... read more
Look out for a demo release of NiCE 2.0 at the end of January 2012. The demo will only do local and remote job launch, but it will be done completely in the NiCE 2.0 infrastructure and contain (hopefully!) a plugin for launching Nek500 from ANL.

We're busy dealing with lots of staffing issues at NiCE HQ and we're getting ready to start rolling out monthly releases from our 2.0 development repo.
We've had several new team members join over the past couple of months:
*Mike Guidry
*Forest Hull
*Eric Lingerfelt
*Greg Lyon
We've made it into FY12 in good form with a lot of exciting things on our plate this year. Jay presented our work during FY11 to the NEAMS PMT and received good feedback!
