I'm implementing some code that processes v2.3 ADT messages and I've just noticed that the v2.3 PID methods GetPhoneNumberHome() and GetPhoneNumberBusiness() both return TN but the v2.3 specification indicates that the datatype is XTN not TN.
So, I'm a bit worried that I'm going to have problems with NHapi v2.3 not handling PID phone numbers correctly.

Not sure what documentation you're looking at but the copy of the 2.3 documentation that I have, downloaded from HL7 UK a few months ago and with 'Final Standard' and '4/3/97' on the page footers has PID-13 (Phone Number - Home) and PID-14 (Phone Number - Business) as XTN.

I have stuct on this line.I'm not getting pid 13.1 Which is a Home Phone-Telephone number.Please tell me how to get this segment created. I'm using NHAPI V231 adtA04.PID.GetPhoneNumberHome(0).PhoneNumber.Value = "(456)120-1478";

The 2.3 specs have phones as TN. 2.3.1 has phones as XTN.

yes Steve is right CH3/Page 3-43 (4/3/97):
13 40 XTN O Y 00116 Phone Number - Home
14 40 XTN O Y 00117 Phone Number - Business
those are XTN field types not TN field type.
