Hey, I would like to introduce myself. I'm Greg, and I have already posted a couple of things on the forum as "gregturn" in response to some polls. I'm interested in looking into LinuxICE, since this appears to be based on using Ubuntu, and staying binary compatible, such that we'll receive patches right off of Ubuntu. I have all my home computers running Ubuntu, either edgy or feisty, and fully intend to make my carputer the same! I'm a software engineer by trade, converted all my home computers to Linux in the past 3 years. I have been writing scripts, java apps, C/C++ apps, and other stuff for the past 10 years at my current job. For my own edification, I'm interested in being able to build a Live CD using what you have put together, burning that ISO, and then running it inside vmware to verify I have the process down pat. Is there documentation on how to do that? I suspect not. If so, then if you can throw me a bone on that, and I would be willing to capture such documentation for you (and future developers). Are there plans to host a wiki along with the forum? If so, can it be mediawiki? I'm pretty fluent in that wiki-speak, and it would be a great place to capture documentation if there isn't that much (yet). Thanks, Greg |
