it would also be nice to have possibility to store the
headers and relevant info in a db, maybe mysql? I think this
maybe could allow for nget to run in a far smaller memory
size when handling big news groups.

That would be nice, queries would be a lot faster, no need
to process the massive cache files.
Might speed up writting out the cache after a -g which takes
ages on my machine 1M posts in some groups..
