When I launched nextobject with "nextobjects.bat", it started correctly
until it try to read 'devaki.properties' for initializing "data
dictionnary".&nbsp;<br>

I create an empty one in a good directory in "Documents and Settings\
..." to try, but unfortunately !<br>
An other problem appears :not valid datadictionnary !<br>
&nbsp;<br>
Somebody can help me by giving me a default file "devaki.properties" to
try this software ?&nbsp;<br>

I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate.
You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it.

With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development.

Back to NO after coding time.
I get 23-04-2004 NO snapshot

And now we can see the variable type and key when drawing some relation
or object. I think it's jam. And nonsense too for cdm to define type and
key. There is no <pk> in cdm, only an identifier, and underlining it was
sufficient.

Some others opinions from No users ?

I write it in french cause it's easier for me and more acute:

Au bout du compte ces nouvelles informations dans les objets rendent la
lecture plus difficile je trouve et le dessin plus lourd, brouill=E9.
J'aimais mieux avant. On a la fen=EAtre de propri=E9t=E9 si on veut conna=

error occured in the schema ..
for example when <code/> tag is not unique the rendering fails ..and you
have to explicitly call "Verify (F7)" to check what the problem is.

I wnat to discuiss one behaviour of the saving of the attributes:

when i make reverse schema from a db ..than in the model we have a lot =
of attributes added
that a re actually with empty content like:

javaName=3D""
baseClass=3D""
size=3D""
default=3D""

that actually break the OM code generation ..for example all integer =
types that have default=3D""
generate uncompilable code...and of course other attributes fail somehow =
in some phase the generation
example (size=3D"" breaks the sql)

note: of course i am doing this (reverse and forward) operations =
configured for Postgresql database ..this could be a problem also i am =
not sure whether this sql issue will affect other databases ..but for =
sure om model will be broken no matter of the database

could we resolve that issue ?

If I had to do it I would have worked at the DOM Level, you should setup
properties needed in default.propertie like=20
nextobjects.io.import.alwaysoverwrite and the make the needed changes
to:org.devaki.nextobjects.util.NOXMLFactory.loadPDM(..);


I was inspired by your weblication and commit an (unpublished yet)
Model2/MVC PHP generator for that app.
Need a torque-gen plugeable :)

I thought that attributes and other properties could be in a database
(libdb ?), so updating them would be easy, and easy the reading for
writing the .xml file ?

Why the path is c:\schema ? Actually the path with generated xml file is =

i believe it could be something like: advanced schema import

may be done by: importing a schema in a temporary xml (dom)
and to check (make analisys) of the working xml=20
(to modify an existing xml (imported 1 monyh ago for example)=20
according to the temporary imported xml

thus we can automatically update xml schema according to a changes in =
the database

I often need functionality like this ..and do it manually for now.

[Nextobjects-user] Writing and saving model properties

NO seems to have a problem when writing/saving model properties: Code
field is sometimes not updated, sometimes this field becomes the Code
field of another object.
Updating it by hand and saving does not resolve anything ? A bug ?

I would like to create a model which associates two entities in a "super
entity", this one being associated with another (Merise 2).

So it would be:
E1(#IDE1, AttE1)
E2(#IDE2, AttE2)
E3(#IDE3, AttE3)

A2(#IDE1,#IDE2,#IDE3) between E3 and E1+E2

Of course the physical model is easy to draw, but what about the

Well, file devaki.properties has been renamed to default.properties ?
when reading this file NO says :
Invalid font definition in properties
But I cannot see any font definition in my file (generated by an older
NO)

NO runs but cannot read .pdm neither nor .cdm file with Error:
Could not get InputSource for file:/home/jm/sapdb/Devaki/DTD/cdm.dtd

What is this file format ?
Should I draw new diagrams for this new NO ?

I cannot open my .pdm file
In fact I can open it, tables are displayed, but no FK and I get
exceptions raised.

Once I had a java.lang.NullPointerException
Now it's a java.lang.ClassCastException

Running 'Verify' on my CDM gave no error neither nor warning.

What does thes exceptions means ?

Is there a problem with encoding or table/associations names
(uppercase ?)
