24 August 2012 - 'news_html.php' modified to generate a new index.htm file every time the reader is run. The new index.htm file includes a 'last-modified' meta tag. Server load may be lessened and news is time-sensitive. The static 'index.htm' file uploaded here was removed.

30 January 2015. I finally got around to replacing the list of feeds, which has grown steadily to about 450 news outlets, blogs, alt-news, official sources, foundations, etc. Now, my personal reader also includes a page devoted specifically to news out of Palestine and Israel. More cleanup (removal of dead feeds) is coming soon.

26 April 2015: Cleaned up the list of RSS feeds somewhat. Got rid of about 5-6 dead feeds (sites that no longer offer an RSS feed). Updated the links to non-performing feeds due to an URL change. This was long overdue.

22 December 2015: Happy Holidays. The Feedlist file keeps on growing. Recently, I reached the 500 feed milestone, and the current list runs to 521 RSS feeds, with most, but not all, of the additions coming in the stories-I-want-to-keep-track-of list. I have also culled some more dead feeds as well as reordered feeds according to their geographic subject matter. It takes about 20 minutes, give-or-take, to run now. I'm not necessarily happy with the code choices I made (why have 8 lists when I could have had one list with the category information embeded in the object?) but the script is solid as a rock and doesn't eat up all the resources on the ancient hardware I run it on. Don't fix what ain't broken, I guess.

11 April, 2020: Feedlist updated, though it's bound to be messy as I haven't cleaned up deprecated feeds in a long time. In the Feedlist.php file, those feeds are commented out.
