Hi I have installed Newgenlib version 2.1 on a linux system (Ubuntu 8.04) a few days back which is working fine except for downloading records from LOC website. Whereas when I tried to install the same version of Newgenlib on a different machine with the same Operating System most of the modules are NOT working. I tried all possibilities such as granting privileges to Posgres table, executable permission to all the files under Jboss and Newgenlib directory. It is really frustrating to see that the same version of the software not working on other systems. Kindly suggest me what should be done for smooth trouble free installation and working of Newgenlib. Thanks in advance. Kiran. |

Hi, How can I change the ports for OPAC and Librarian's interface? Presently both the services using 8080 port, but I want to change the port to occupy some other software which uses tomcat. I changed port for Librarian's interface from 8080 to 8083 in the file "jboss-service.xml" from /usr/jboss-3.2.1_tomcat-4.1.24/server/default/conf directory, and it's working, but OPAC is still running on 8080 port. Can any one suggest me where to edit the configuration files to change ports of OPAC and Librarian's interface. Thanks for any reply. Kiran. |

Hi friends, I am trying to import bulk records into newgenlib database. I tried in "Import Catalogue Records" in Technical Processing module, here I can import the records one by one. It will take lot of time. Is there any other option for bulk import of records in newgenlib? Thank you for any help in this regard. Kiran. |

Dear Sir, We are trying to install Newgenlib version 2.1.2 on Ubuntu 8.04 OS. We could successfully install and run both OPAC and librarian's interface. However while entering the bibliographic details for a document it comes out with an error saying that "Warning: Contact vendor". Asso I am not able to connect the LOC link from "Import Catalog" template. responding the previous message, I have run the "tsearch2.sql" script on an empty "newgenlib" database. We are accessing the internet through proxy server, Should we configure apache web server for the jboss server??? Kindly suggest what to do. Thank you. Kiran Savanur, |
