I replicated this problem on 2nd Ubuntu 16.04 b1 machine.
The problem still exists on the newly released 16.04 (final version).
May be, it's time to do something about it ! ! !
Yeah I ran into that as well, but instead of saying May be, it's time to do something about it ! ! !
It might be better, or at least more mature, to simply bring the issue to the attention of the developer.
This program is free and he is making it avaliable for all of us to use simply to be nice.
I guess if you really think May be, it's time to do something about it ! ! ! You could fork the project and start coding...just sayin'
If your goal is to use nixnote2 in 16.04, simply install the libpoppler52 deb from 15.10. But, yes, this is a useful package and it would be nice to keep it moving along somehow.
Good idea Martin - I did and it works.
I loath having to go to the Evernote website.
Agreed. Nixnote2 is nicer than the web interface.
Given the backward compatibility list for libpoppler, I'll guess that nixnote2 is not using any new features or fixes from the latest releases.
I apologize for my lack of response. My personal life has been a little busy and left me with very little free time lately.
The easiest way around the problem would be to use the tar file. There is an install.sh that should do the same installation as the deb. Once I get some time I'll rebuild the deb with the newer dependencies, but that may not be until next week.
This should be fixed in the next release.
