A major re-writing for the user interface has been done in this release. A webpage-based user interface has been used as a user-friendly frontend.
The system is now supporting the Max OS and Linux platform. In addition, the software installers are available for downloads.
The NeuARt, as one of the plugins in the NeuroScholar, is released as a standalone application.
Different Knowledge models are available for downloads as well.
Some major bugs are fixed in this release.
The testing framework is refined and improved so that we can run tests for the sub-modules from the same knowledge model.
In this release, we refined the design of the knowledge models. Only 'core' and 'whole' model are available in the system. The 'whole' model is built on the basis of the 'core' model with some extra knowledge representations.
A knowledge capture framework is implemented within the Fragmenter. At the time of this release, two types of experiments can be captured and linked to the literature.
Also the user interface is improved so that it becomes more intuitive.
Some bugs have been fixed in version 1.3a. This version is more stable.
Two major features are developed in this release.
One is the plugin NeuARt II, which allows the user to manipulate the published atlas locally. In addition to the brain volume delineation, brain map data can be imported as layers in the system.
The other feature is the knowledge capture. This would allow the user to capture structured data within the Fragmenter.
One important feature is implemented in Fragmenter plugin so that the user can have a way to formulate data attributes and attach them to an experiment fragment.
The test utilities can automatically produce reports with detailed infomation, such as the grid test results, time, and memory usage etc. This might help to analyze the bugfix and system performace!
The testing utilities has be implemented in the development version 1.2.4. We will start to test the system in different Windows machines.
Neuroscholar v1.2 has been released and will not be replaced by v1.3 as a development release for the time being. This is because we will be concentrating on consolidating and polishing this release until it works bug-free under NeuroScholar's new testing framework.
