Shortly after the first of the year we will release a snapshot upgrade to Neuron as a beta. Following this, our team will be working with this release - and with the community - to thoroughly test the Neuron plugins in this new environment. Additionally, we will create an upgrade guide for those of you who will need to bring an existing Neuron instance up to this current snapshot.
This release is a fairly major upgrade to the Neuron plugins that will deploy alongside the latest Tolven Snapshot (from March 2014). This snapshot includes some changes to core Tolven components, including the TolvenEJB plugin. Also, the JBoss Drools libraries have been upgraded from version 5 to version 6. And, as a result of this, we are moving our development and deployment environments to Java 7.
The intent of this release is to give developers a preview of the environmental changes that are coming in the next production-ready release. This beta release should NOT be used to implement a production environment. Developers will want to deploy along side this beta release in order to test their own code for compatibility with the current Neuron and Tolven snapshots.
Please make sure you look at the [Conundrum Beta - Known Issues] and [Conundrum - Upgrade Considerations] pages for this release. Due to the nature of the changes in this snapshot, there are several areas that need to be reviewed for compatibility.
The upgrade should come out of beta sometime in Q2 2015. At this point, the Conundrum release will be considered the best choice for new development projects considering the security implications of continuing in prior releases.
