#8 compilation with gcc-3.2.2 seg faults

I realise that the documentation suggests icm-0.5.0 be
compiled with gcc-2.95-3.

Compilation with gcc-3.2.2 on Redhat 9.0 (Shrike)
produces faulty executables.

Command line
./configure (no options); make; make install

[download]$ icm
Segmentation fault
[download]$

I hope this is not a serious bug, and I note that
gcc-3.x seems to break a whole load of other code.
Apologies if this bug has already been reported.
