The FTP client offers a simple, classical user interface to manage remote files with FTP:

Features

  • ASCII/binary auto-transfer mode
  • Passive connections
  • Local file explorer: standard file management features:
    • Create directory
    • Delete file or directory
    • Refresh the view (in the event a file changed out of the application)
    • Rename file or directory
    • Upload
    • Open the select file or directory with a system/OS explorer or application
    • Select columns to show
    • Show/hide hidden files
  • Remote file explorer:
    • Create directory
    • Delete file or directory
    • Refresh the view (in the event a file changed out of the application)
    • Rename file or directory
    • Download
    • Select columns to show
    • Set access rights
    • Show/hide hidden files
    • Drop local files (to upload them)
  • Drag n' drop support between remote and local explorers
  • Toggle view orientation (for instance in the case you have a wide screen and want to see the directory tree on the left hand-side of the screen)
  • Path completion assistant
  • FTP traces (you can open the view in the Window > Show View... menu)
  • Lots of customization can be done in the preferences:
    • Enable or disable ASCII/binary auto-transfer
    • Manage file extensions to be associated with ASCII transfer
    • Enable or disable the path completion assistant
    • Manage trace colors

What this tool does not do

  • In the local file explorer, show shortcuts to the user's desktop or "My Documents" folders
  • Upload/download queue management (all files are sequentially uploaded or downloaded)
  • SFTP or FTPS connections
  • Session management
  • Edition of remote files
