Hi, I have problems setting up netstation with syslinux. I've done everything until the last step: - edited build.conf - run build - copied files to device but I don't know how to write syslinux to the media. The problem is, I've found a file syslinux.cfg, but there where no executables called syslinux contained in the netstation-0.9 package. Have I to get and compile it myself to do the last step? Thank you for your help Lutz -- Lutz Schönemann Addr: Fraunhofer Institut für Sichere Informations Technologie SIT Rheinstrasse 75, 64295 Darmstadt, Germany WWW: http://www.sit.fraunhofer.de Zertifizierungen in der FhG: http://pki.fraunhofer.de |

In order to access local drives on a linux box from MS Windows you need to run a Samba server. Netstation doesn't support Samba servers, but both thinstation and pxes (both alternatives to Netstation) do. Read my signature and guess which one I recommend :-) Mike On Tue, 2 Sep 2003, GALOPO Fabrice wrote: > Hi > > Is there a way to access local drives such as floppy or cdrom, on a Windows > 2000 server using Netstation ? > > I'm using netstation boot by PXE > What are the build files for local drives acces (smb,...) ? > > Thanks for your help... > > Fabrice G. > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek > Welcome to geek heaven. > http://thinkgeek.com/sf > _______________________________________________ > Netstation-general mailing list > Net...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/netstation-general > -- Thinstation FAQ maintainer http://thinstation.sourceforge.net - a light, full featured linux based thin client OS |

ThinStation is the "evolution" of netstation.... netstation seems to be not currently developed, so a group of developer has created the new thinstation project, starting from netstation.... It is his natural evolution.... better support for new hw, newer xfree, newer rdesktop, newer ica client and so on.... bye! Hello. I've been testing a lot netstation 0.9pre3, and I'm very happy with it. I use thin clients as X-clients for an XDMCP server, but I've detected that mozilla crash at some pages. I've tested the same mozilla (from the same XDMCP server) with other X-Servers and works fine. I think netstation's X-server have some problems, I'm using a P-I machine with 96Mb of Ram. But, I'm not sure the problem was netstaion X-sErver The test-page is www.aeci.es (just push a click and enter) The page is based in flash code. Anyone can help me? ¿Is the problem he X-server or another thing? Thanks a lot for your time -- ÿþ |
