Jeff! i) Seems I was not clear enough last time: I don't like private mails about subjects publicly debated on a mailing list. Jeff, René, all who helped, ii) I quit. Why? After a soundly test of NetRexx Pipelines I conclude: it's not what I hoped it could be since it is advertised with "Implements CMS Pipelines". IMO no, not yet. To be fair I must mention that I tried to run it from ooRexx, what inflicts additional problems. Mainly it's the need to wrap calls in 'Address "" ... with input ... output ...', what is a distinct limitation to one input sources only and one output sink (and one error output). Next problem is ooRexx 5.oo _Beta_ -- it /seems/ to me not stable. At least I did not give up too soon, I finished a little routine. Some of the OS/2 Pipelines I had to convert completely to REXX, some pipes I had to simplify or split in two parts -- in short, together with the a. m. restrictions I had to rewrite every pipe, and therefore also to test and debug it. I did not try to migrate ooRexx to NetRexx, so I can not estimate if NR Pipelines perform better directly with NetRexx. Am 05.07.2022 um 16:58 schrieb Jeff Hennick: > [...] tl;dr. Best, M. |
