I am not sure that I understand your question correctly as
my mailer was not able to decode some chars.
At the very beginning, there were 3 files in the browser :
Html.cc gr.cc and gr-x11.cc
Html.cc was (and is still a big part of) the engine
gr.cc and gr-x11.cc were the GRaphical fron end.
So gr stands for graphical. I guess it is not really
appropriate now...
