We're running Netmail 3.5.2d on SLES9 and have an issue with two of our users, (both accessing their accounts from the same computers). They're running IMAP on both of their accounts, and the problem we're experiencing is apparent corruption in the "Sent Items" folder in their user database. They're using Outlook Express as their primary client. When the problem occurs, they are unable to send new mail. If you log into the webmail client, and try to access the "Sent Items" Folder, the webmail client locks up, and you have to close the browser and re-log in to the account. If I access the user directory from the server consol and delete the .idx file and log back into the account, it locks up again so it's not a simple index corruption issue. If I delete both the .idx and .box files then the account can send mail again, but it doesn't track the sent item. If I delete the .box and .idx, log into the webmail client, re-create the folder with the same name, and try to access it, it locks up. The only way to resolve the issue, is to create a new folder with a different name than "Sent Items" like "Sent" or "SentItems", re-configure the client and web interface to have that be the Sent Items folder, and then it will track sent items until the next time it becomes corrupted, at which point I have to make a new sent items folder with a different name than either of the two previous ones. This issue has been duplicated with both of these users 3 times each. I look forward to your input or responses. Thanks, Dennis deBruyn debruyn at efca.org |
