Platform specific properties can be put in
${os.name}.properties
This uses Apache Ant with the cpptasks module.
It works without makefiles and configurescripts. It has so many advantages i dont know where to begin. The negative part is of course that it requires Java, but there is no need for it to replace the current buildsystem so it's all good.
