hybrid mesh possible?

    Dear Netgen developers/experts,

I am wondering if it is possible to create hybrid mesh in netgen (hex/tet/prism).  Within my domain, there are areas that requires high quality hex elements.  Is it possible to generate structured hex mesh in these areas (either inside netgen or outside netgen), then, mesh the areas that are not critical using tet elements.  Prisms will be needed to transition from hex to tet.  Is this possible?  If not, is it possible to include this feature in the future release?

    Hi Pei-Ying,

this is possible, and it has been done in applications. But, you have to do some work yourself …
You have to manage the  hex mesh, and add some pyramid (!) transition elements. Finally, Netgen can fill the rest with the unstructured tet mesh.
