Hi. The initial NetFS protocol has been written, though it's still in a state of flux. Until there's working software, I don't expect a lot of traffic here. For now the plan is to take some time over the next few weeks and months to write the initial NetFS application, and then to buy a terabyte or so sized disk, put it in my cheap Dell server, and start hosting popular legal files, like Ubuntu and Fedor ISOs, and maybe a mirror of Gutenberg.org's e-books. Then, if all goes well, we'll see how my pathetic 40K bytes/second upload speed does to serve the cloud. If all goes well, you can expect to get that full 350K bytes/second download rate (or whatever your max download rate is) when downloading large amounts of data. No more waiting pathetically to receive your first piece from a semi-hostile BitTorrent cloud that will only download to you at your anemic upload bandwidth! Yeah, well I'd rather dream big than small :-) Regards, Bill |
